I have an MDI parent form which contains a status bar and progress bar. I changed the controls in the designer class to a scope of protected internal. When I try to put a text string into the controls on the parent form to update the status bar text property, it appears to be setting the property when I walk through the code. When the form displays, the string does actually appear in the status bar.

So my question is how do I access the MDI parent's status bar control to display messages?
