>We have a large VFP 8SP1 program that experiences random exits when running on two specific customer computers. The application simply disappears, no error messages, no Dr Watson, no "This application has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down" It just exits. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to where/when it exits. Sometimes it's just sitting on a data entry form, or sometimes the main menu.

In the two cases where we have seen this problem, it is being run on a Windows 2003 Terminal Server. However, we run it ourselves on a 2003 Terminal Server and we don't see this problem.

I don't know if this is connected to the shutdowns though. We had the shutdown problem on the servers BEFORE we included the BITMAP=OFF setting and the problem continued after we included the setting. I only include this information because we've never had display problems that required the BITMAP setting, except for these two servers that also have the shutdown problem.

- What's the Windows SP and update level on the problem servers?
- Has your own TS admin kept track of any config changes or tweaks to your own TS that might help out these others?
- Check that the servers are using WHQL-certified video drivers provided by Microsoft. If they are vendor-supplied drivers, ensure they are WHQL-certified. If not you can try getting WHQL-certified drivers from either the adapter maker (e.g. Asus) or chipset maker (reference driver, e.g. nVidia)

I believe there are quite a few TS config tweaks and hotfixes available to fix various issues. There's probably a site or MS search page somewhere that puts them all in one place but I don't know where that is.
