Well, since the UT covers other events, I figured I'd post about the recent MSDN CodeCamp event at the University of Connecticut over the weekend.

It was a brisk and chilly fall afternoon at UConn, but things heated up quickly inside.

Bill Zak and Peter Laudati had a great 1-2 punch with a two part session, "Developing Silverlight 1.1 Applications with the Silverlight .NET Framework and ASP.NET". Up until now, I had a mild interest at best in Silverlight, but after seeing these presentations, I'm going to "follow the light" in the near future.

Our own JB gave a great presentation on "Test Driven Development with TestDriven.net and nUnit" - JB has become synonymous in the Mid-Atlantic community with this topic.

Another bud of mine, DonXML (Don Demsak) gave his usual great talk on LINQ to XML. They don't call him the east coast Don for nothing. When people have XML questions, Don is the first one they go to.

Up and comer Steve Andrews gave an informative talk on "Visual Studio 2005 Tips and Tricks" - Steve is a wizard...watch for his name in the future.

I did two intro talks on LINQ and WCF - had a blast, evals were good.

I never heard the head count, but it seemed to be about a 100. Not bad for a weekend event in mid-November.

So, in a nutshell, that was it. Had a great speaker's dinner afterwards at Bennigans restaurant. JB and DonX and I downed plenty of Guinness...

All in all, a great day...and (best of all), no speaker sent any letters to other employers. If they had, I doubt anyone would have allowed them to speak.
