What Tamar and Thomas said. The move from 8 to 9 SP1 is well worth it. Just make sure it's SP1. There was a bug in 9 that caused views (and maybe more than just views) to throw 1545 errors in a multiuser situation on a network, but it was fixed in SP1. VFP 9 SP1 is better than VFP 8, for sure, but I would not move to VFP 9 SP2, at present. There are a number of issues that make that choice questionable right now.
