Several people expressed interest in a solution (if any) to this problem.

We ruled out the following:
- Network and/or server delays
- Anti-virus software
- Slow PC

Our conclusion is VFP integration with VSS is simply slow.

We have disabled source code control within VFP, and use the VSS application separately. This is much, much faster. The only functionality lost is the ability to allow concurrent PJX check-outs and merging (via the PLM file), and of course the lack of VSS status icons with the VFP project manager.
