Thanks. Putting quotes around the "mytable.myfield" solved my problem.

Also, I printed out your function to separate a memo field into multiple text files.

I'll give it a try. You have been most helpful. I appreciate your sharing your knowledge and expertise with me.

I have only been working in VFP for about 6-1/2 months and am still learning the best ways to do things.

I have a heavy machine language programming background, so I am able to catch on quickly, but I still have a ways to go.
