Thanks guys, great information to start. We are using Excel right now, so I believe SQL is a kind of huge for us. I have been using VFP for 14 years and it is pretty nice that Microsoft will support it until 20014. It seems the latest update was november 14 (two days ago). I need to have more facts and then I can be back to VFP again.
>VFP 9, SP2 has recently been released and basically ends development of VFP from Microsoft. However, it will be supported through 2014. (see
http://msdn.com/vfoxpro). This does not mean your VFP applications will stop working, just that after 2014 Microsoft will no longer provide support.

>Without knowing some specifics on your needs, it is difficult to recommend one product over another. Kevin has recommended SQL Server, which is a great product, but you will still need to develop a front-end application in some language to use it.

>>Hi everybody,
>>
>>I haven’t been developing VFP programs for about one year now. We need a database and I want to convince my company to use VFP if this is right of course.
>>
>>Some people in the company say that VFP is not supported by Microsoft any more. They believe that we shouldn’t spend money on something that might be obsolete very soon.

>>I was wondering if someone can give me some leads, so I get a solid idea on this.

>>Thank you,
