If you look at the contributions that Rod and JVP made in the Fox world, I think their contributions stack up against the other recent winners. I am not saying that recent winners don't deserve it....but Rod and John have done at least as much.

Don't get me started with the "as good as the worst player who's in" argument. It doesn't work for me with baseball's Hall of Fame and it doesn't work for me here. I don't think Don Sutton belongs in the HOF. I don't think Eddie Murray belongs there. I do think Jim Rice, the dominant power hitter of the 1980s, earned a plaque in Cooperstown. He just p'd (better, censor?) off the wrong people with his attitude. He was a proud black man playing in a racist city and the sportswriters there, a fraternity if there ever was one, made him pay. By stats he belongs there. You could look it up ((c) Casey Stengel).

Back to the present, I think Rod is marginal based on his contributions and John is so polarizing it would blow up the whole program to recognize him. Lots of people would no longer respect the program.

Your heart is in the right place but I think this is the wrong battle.
