... and this bugs me enormously because I want to control when I receive e-mail.

I've been through options/settings.
I found something about "When Outlook is offline" and UNchecked the 2 controls that are related to it but the damned thing keeps on receiving mail when it is not "running".

Can someone tell me how to get control of this beast??????
