>The first couple were issued by Microsoft. Rick and Doug decided on Tamar. I don't know how Rainer was selected.

Correction: Rick and Doug had to hide the award from Tamar until it was announced at Southwest Fox. The Microsoft Fox Team was consulted on the selection of Doug, Tamar and Rainer's awards. Ken Levy announced the the awards for Rick Strahl, Whil Hentzen, and Doug Hennig. We were told no one from Microsoft was going to be at Southwest Fox this year. Ken did show up minutes before the keynote, which was a surprise to the organizers. So Doug did the award presentation. I was not about to change the keynote at the last minute to include Ken. {g}

>There was some discussion in Germany about how the selection in the future should go. There were various ways discussed, but no decision was made on how to move forward.

This is true. I look forward to seeing more VFP Community Lifetime Achievement Awards being handed out in the future to deserving individuals.
