I'd like to add to the question if I might.

What issues are there around versions of OCX's and DLL's? I'm trying to use the COMDLG32.OCX and I'm having trouble getting it to run on other machines. I've noticed different versions on each machine of both files. Are OCX's backward compatible with the DLL's? If I use the right version of the OCX will it work regardless of the DLL's version?

Once that's figured out then I'd like to understand the original question.
