>Even reviews that were just so-so for the movie were still 5 stars or more for Angelina's scene. I'll be busy until after Thanksgiving weekend. I assume it will still be playing IMax for at least a month.

Actually she is only on screen for a few minutes and stylized so as not to lose the pg rating. My biggest quibble with the whole movie was whatever it was they did to her face to make her look like she's on prednazone or has just undergone extensive orthodontia. Her exact cheekbone structure would have been perfect but in doing the animation mask they have somehow lost an essentila feature. Hopkins look great as Hopkins, Malkovich is recognizable but less gaunt but who cares. But messing with Jolie's face is truly defacing a national treasure.

>>I'm very pleased the first big commercial attempt at this had the words "Angelina Jolie" and "naked" in the synopsis. <s> I went to a 5pm show the day it opened and it was packed. I hope that's a good sign ( not even Imax, just a great theater with 3d )
>>
>>Opening weekend was 28 million and only 20% of the theaters had 3d ( they did 40% of the gross )
>>
>>I'll bet the numbers go up and the percentage of 3d gross goes up as well.
>>
>>I think people who didn't see it in 3d may go back to see it again in 3d.

>>>At a minimum, the Box office sales for Beowulf will nudge the studios to produce more in 3D over the coming yrs. I saw some statement that pointed to the very large percentage of ticket sales that came specifically from IMAX presentations. And Hollywood is very much a copycat industry.
>>>
>>>>>I watched at in the IMAX cinema, and it was gorgeous even thou I was in first row (it was a pre-screening last week) The glasses are so good you completely forget about them. Of course, if it was not for the 3D, the movie was not very good
>>>>
>>>>I agree. In 2d you would have to be a fan of that kind of thing. But seeing the 3D was so much fun I would have watched pretty much anything.
>>>>
>>>>Surely somebody will start producing this kind of stuff for home theater, at least on DVD ( will be amazed if porn producers aren't the first )

Charles Hankey

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin

Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
