You dont' have to open a PDF file. You can use 'Print' verb to do printing w/o user interaction. It'll print to the defaul Windows printer.

The user simply selects the file from the pick list. (Actually a grid showing the PDF details with a check box to select the desired files.) However, this requires the user to load and print each PDF separately.
