If I understand correctly, you didn't need the English to loose. All you had to do is win. Why then be so happy they failed? The Russians are the ones who profited from the English failure.

No really, I don't think we are favorites. This generation is just not good enough.
The Greeks are not seen as favorites, but they made most points in the qualification and they are the current champion.
I felt quite sure that the French wouldn't make it, but there they are, surprise surprise.
What strikes me is that there are this time many countries from the east and south east, including yours.
Croatia is strong, Romania too, Tsjechia too.
