hi cetin. thanks for your reply. i tried puting web browser control from vfp component gallary to my form. i didnt know how to link it to a word file. i tried this.navigate2('c:\temp\doc1.doc\') and it worked. but i get 'open or save' dialog box each time i load the form. and second,it lets me change anything in the word document. i want it to be only for view purpose


btw, no matter i use word or pdf file, user would neet ms office or pdf reader installed on his machine. there are better chances that he would have office installed than adobe reader . but i was thinking what if he has not. the file that want to show them is really a simple file without any heavy stuff in it which can be viewd in wordpad also.

so can i use something like wordpad etc to display this file without using any activex controls ?
