Running a VFP 9 app .exe on some PCs, when executing a specific routine that edits data in several DBFs, the app fails during processing and, very strangely, changes a file name from ‘authortemp.dbf’ to ‘00000G0P00C4.TMP’. This database file, if correctly renamed, can be opened normally. After the name change, it comes up with an access denied error. The same process works fine on most PCs. I can’t see a hardware/software pattern on the PCs that do this. Anyone any suggestions as to what could cause such a bizarre event? Many thanks.
