>Its well worth going to a big dealer where you can see a lot of screens side by side playing the same thing. The difference is huge.

The difference may look much, much bigger than it really is. It's common to adjust the picture on the cheaper models so that they look much worse than the pictures on the units they really want to sell, read the expensive ones.

>>Keep in mind that most contrast ratios reported by the manufacturers are inflated. It is difficult to tell which is better without viewing them side-by-side and then by watching specific scenes to note the difference. Also 1080i is actualy 1920x1080 if this is accurate:

>>>Kevin, what models are they? Is it the Olevia 537H? If so, that 1080i seems to translate to 1366 x 768 resolution.
>>>
>>>Hi, yes, it's the Olevia 537H, thanks. I think the resolutions are the same. The Sharp has 6000:1 contrast ratio, while the Olevia's is 1600:1.
>>>
>>>Based on reviews, I'm sorting of leaning towards the Sharp - the Olevia seems to average about 4 stars out of 5, with most people saying it's a good HD LCD TV for 'budget conscious', with exceptional sound.
>>>
>>>Normally, I'm the kind of person who will spend more on a computer than a TV, and was planning on buying the Olevia tomorrow morning, but then we found an ad for the Sharp, and that one is described by many as purely stunning.
>>>
>>>If the Sharp were a thousand, I might learn towards the Olevia....but since the Sharp is basically half-off, we're probably going to get it.
