Hi,
>I need to create a generic PC spec for a Web server to be used for my ASP.NET application and VFP Application. I got a sample PC spec from one of the existing customers where they purchased PC with the following processor:
>
>1. HP XEON 5060 3.2GHZ DC PROCESSOR FOR DL380
>
>How can I translate it into generic terms? I don't want other customers to have to buy HP but any manufacturer.
That's a 3.2GHz Dual core processor

>
>HP 1GB (2 x 512MB) FBD PC2-5300 Memory Kit
>
>Would it be ok simply to state that the server has to have a minimum of 1 Gb or RAM?
Yep - but more might be better (not an expensive add-on)

>3. As far as hard driver, the spec is as following:
>
>HP 72GB SAS 10K RPM 2.5IN HOT-PLUGHDD
>
>What is SAS 10k?
The 10K belongs to the RPM (i.e. 10000RPM rather than the common 7200RPM
Should I just state that the server should have a minimum of 72Gb Hard Drive?
>
Should be fine
Of course all this depends on the workload you're expecting on the server....
