So far I have only one client using Dabo. But on the other hand he's the only client I have suggested that Dabo would be a good solution. Most clients don't care what you are using for a language just that it is supported and has a future.

But there are companies that demand I use some language or environment that matches what ever internal support they have. I am talking with a second company about accepting python and so far python is receiving a harm welcome. They currently use VB6 and VFP7,8,9. But the CIO is very open to anything that is cross platform. What I really think is opening the door is they moved from exchange to a linux mail solution (postfix) and created a fax solution on linux (hylafax). Both solutions have not been rebooted in a year. So in the end the open source solutions are opening the door for python.

I have another company that uses Java. They are very good at getting solutions out the door quickly and see no need to allow python (or jpython) in the mix. And these guys are using windows. As far as I can tell no Linux is to be found.

I know nothing about other locations - but for northern California.
