I agree Possums really are not generally a problem unless they decide to build a den in the crawlspace under your house. Then it is more of smell problem than anything else! It is hard to imagine how bad the smell can get unless you've had one living there! :o)

I had to use shakeaway which smells like fox to get the possum to leave. Supposedly vinegar and peppermint oil works but not on my possum it didn't!
