>You are assuming that those are the only choices, and it does seem that way at first, but I think you are using a bit of a soundbite with the coulda/woulda/shoulda to obfuscate things.

And your thread title is not a soundbite at all. Apart from its being actually contrary to what the article you linked says.

> Anyone who is here illegally knew what could happen when they crossed. Talk about woulda/shoulda/coulda, now there's a good example of that. Now that there here, they wonder why we don't just roll over and let them have it all.

Have what?

> I like Mike's simplified version of breaking into the country.

I know you like simplified versions, but I can't offer you any. Stay with Mike's 12 gauge.

(OK I know that putting the "12 gauge" and "simplified version" in the same sentence is a dirty hot button trick. I just wanted to demonstrate that I can find hot buttons and push them if I really get my mind to it - which I am actually loathe to do. The above remark will not be in the minutes and the jury is directed to know nothing about it)

> They are here, but they are invaders. Uninvited.

Wait a minute. They WERE invited. There's a market, there's a demand. They are just your ordinary businessmen doing what they do - go where there's money to be made. They have business partners here. They deal with someone, not with thin air. They couldn't make a dime dealing with nobody.

>Illegal. I want them to leave, as do most (not just blue republicans) others who are citizens. They don't want to wait 10 years to get over her legally? Too bad.

Next, you'll have to wait 10 years for the gov't to do something for you. Don't like it? Too bad. You just gave them a free pass. You set the standard.

> I say we can send most of them back and will. It's just going to take time and it's not going to happen if everyone just says, "Well, there already here, and I would hate to see them go back home to a life of poverty." I will always fight for their removal. There are many in government who feel the same. Many liberals realize that it's a problem and want something done. Not many are fighting against having better border security to ensure that many more don't get here.

Actually, I'm amazed that this country's borders are so porous. Must have something to do with population density. Still, I don't think the per capita length of the border is worse than in many other countries which have their borders secured far better. Must be something historical and US specific.

>It is hard to make them leave. Lots of administrative red tape and the like. But we will keep trying because that's what ir right. Not woulda, but will.

I'm still scratching my head... you wrote a piece of quite a length, without mentioning the other side at all.

Who is harboring them here? Who is giving them jobs? Who is making outrageous profits on them? Who is trying to give them credit cards? Who is selling cars to them? How do they get those cars tagged? How do they pass inspection?

Why do you have nothing to say about these guys?
