I'm sitting here wondering if there is a way to create an _assign method for a std. memvar? Or maybe a way to accomplish something similar. In rewriting some code, it would be handy to be able to use old memvars, but pull the data from the new class I'm creating. Then change things over time to get rid of the old memvars. I know I could create a function and pass it the memvar name, but then I'd have to visit all the existing code at once and make that change and part of this is to avoid doing that right now.
