Was nervous about updating 100's of clients with 1,000's of workstations to SP2. Most of whom we don't have access to workstations only servers.

It is a scheduling app and has a row for each resource with one of a small number of images displayed on each row. There can be 100's of rows and when trying to improve performance I found that by storing the image and using .PictureVal I knocked a couple of seconds off form load.

I have the same with the schedule bar which uses GIPlusX to draw a gradient in memory and the use the .PictureVal to set it for each bar. This is a background to the transparency is not an issue.

I've gone back to the .picture property for the moment and will have to think about how and when to distribute SP2 !
