>> If you are using SP2, you can use PNGs instead of BMPs
Was nervous about updating 100's of clients with 1,000's of workstations to SP2. Most of whom we don't have access to workstations only servers.
>>What do you mean by "load images only once"?
It is a scheduling app and has a row for each resource with one of a small number of images displayed on each row. There can be 100's of rows and when trying to improve performance I found that by storing the image and using .PictureVal I knocked a couple of seconds off form load.
I have the same with the schedule bar which uses GIPlusX to draw a gradient in memory and the use the .PictureVal to set it for each bar. This is a background to the transparency is not an issue.
I've gone back to the .picture property for the moment and will have to think about how and when to distribute SP2 !
Thanks guys
Gary.
