Are they using .Net web services (.asmx)? If so, is it using BasicHttp protocol or some type of ws* protocols? If they are using any ws* protocols, they won't work directly with VFP. You'll need to use .Net or something else that can talk ws* before the data hits a VFP app.

IMO, these are bigger issues than understanding how SOAP works as much of the SOAP stuff is abstracted away with current tools.

>No, I'm just very unfamiliar with the protocol layering and I'm going to have to use SOAP for the first time soon. Trying to understand how it works with all the other stuff. I will communicating with a system using .NET and they use SOAP inbetween.
