Taylor was the victim of a sad truism: He brought a knife to a gunfight.

Had taylor been holding a shotgun instead of a machete, he might still be alive today.

Having said all this, for a burgler to bring a gun to a robbery means he can get the death
penalty. And I hope he gets it.

I'm assuming what happened is that they thought they could get in and get out with no interference, had a man with a machete come at them, and in panic shot him. Stupid stupid stupid. Same kind of thing as somebody who tries to get away with drinking and driving, only to kill somebody in an accident.
