I'm assuming what happened is that they thought they could get in and get out with no interference, had a man with a machete come at them, and in panic shot him. Stupid stupid stupid. Same kind of thing as somebody who tries to get away with drinking and driving, only to kill somebody in an accident.

>I find that odd. A machete? It's not like he couldn't afford a gun...strange. I don't know. Maybe it wasn't his regular home and didn't want to leave a gun laying around in an empty house.

I thought it was weird too. Apparently it was close to his bed (maybe under it)? I machete is better than nothing, but honestly, a cheap 12 gauge would do the trick and could probably be bought for around 100 bucks used.
