Actually, in SQL 2008, they've made it even easier.

SQL 2008 supports a new Table Type (table valued parameter). So you'll be able to pass a data table as a direct SQL 2008 parameter to a stored proc, and immediately use it in a JOIN.

Nothing that you can't do now, though they've now made it about as seamless as you can get.
