My wife was concerned about safety with the kids. My daughters are 18 and 15 and they go shooting
with me regularly. The best way, IMHO, to reduce in-home gun injuries is to take away the curiosity.
Teaching the kids to shoot is the best way to do it. Plus it's fun time with them too.

Now my son is 5, and he's into cops & robbers, cowboy & indians, and the like. He doesn't know I
own guns, but 'the door' still has him fascinated. It's very secure and I'm, confident he can't get
in.

I also keep 2 safes in there, as well as things I want secured.

A gun large safe can easily cost $500. This wall, with the lock, door, studs, drywall and all
other parts cost all of $250 bucks.

>My brother-in-law has the same and he made it fire-proof with a steel door and walls. It is also his 'safe room' :o)

>>>How's that going to work out? You have kids in the house, so surely the weapons and ammunition are locked up somewhere they can't get it. If someone breaks in, how are you going to have a loaded weapon available in time to do any good?
