Metin,

The issue is that certain members of the VFP community got into a dispute, then one side sent damaging letters to the other's employer. They knew who she worked for because she revealed details here and on other VFP boards. She lost her job.

For me, changing the flag is a reflection that the community has changed: after all these years of sharing private details with each other, the actions of a few mean it is not safe any more. In other online communities (e.g. Wikipedia) you get banned/shunned if you pursue somebody into real life but clearly that's not the case in this community, so I suppose the changing flag is a sort of Ghandi protest for me. The humor is along the lines of "go ahead, send a letter to my employer in the Congo and they'll send you a crocodile tooth." Others may have different motives.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
