This is interesting. This scenario refers back to what I've stated several times about what I really like from a Chris Rock show I saw. He stated how he hated people who could tell you which side of a situation they stood on without even knowing the whole story. Chris stated how he was more liberal when it came to international events and more conservative on local events.

You appear similar to me. On international events, war in Iraq, bad idea. War in Iran, worse idea. Lock up and throw away the key for those who commit brutal murders at home, good idea.

>>>This is the one kind of incident where I break with your crowd and agree with Kevin G. But for different reasons.
>>>
>>>Partly these kids did something that they should pay for. Even thou it's not going to bring Taylor back.
>>>
>>>But secondly, there's a finite number of resources out there for help of various sorts. Obviously, because of the mindset these young men must have to commit such a henous act, it will require a lot of social resources to try to change them.
>>>
>>>What this invariably does is draw those resources from somewhere else. And typically that somewhere else prevents the resources from helping someone who truly wants the help. But is not screaming loud enough. So someone who is playing by the rules, but wants to advance in society can't get the help they need and deserve. Because their wheel wasn't squeaky enough to put them at the top of the list.
>>
>>First, I never said they shouldn't be punished. Of course, they must. But I was horrified at how bloodthirsty the cries were here.
>>
>>Do you really not see this as a horrible tragedy for these kids and their families, as well as for the Taylor family?
>>

>Of course, but Taylor did not bring this tragedy on himself. The killer(s) did. Taylor was an innocent victim. His killers were not.
>
>You can't make decisions about whether or not, or how to punish murderers just because the murderers have families.
