Well, how could you ever go through life not knowing that rabbits are lagomorphs? <g>
>>Thank you for defending Zoology. Having a M.Sc. in Zoology, I was a wildlife researcher for more than ten years and have used FoxPro/FoxBase for ten years to manage wildlife data. My applications do things like wildlife population trend mornitoring, locating new reserve sites for the gorvenments and environmental impact assessments. In the school, I was interested in big mammals, really hated those microbiology courses. Alas, I just last month finished a big microbial database project. You never know what's next!

>I didn't mean to imply there's something wrong with Zoology. I realize that you can do programming in relation to a lot of different subjects. The point is that in most cases, a person in that field is going to have some interest in it.
>
>Of course schools should _offer_ zoology, even to those who are becoming programmers. But if a person has no interest in zoology, has no intention of ever going into the field as a programmer or otherwise, why force them to take it?
>
>I learned nothing from that class. It made me nauseous. It had no impact whatsoever on my career since I have absolutely no wish to get into anything zoology related. So I ask again, what the H did I need to take zoology for?
>
>The same goes for meteorology and a ton of other classes that served no purpose in my life except to waste my time and money.
