Look, I do recognise the american loves his guns and it difficult for them to put them away. It has a large history of using them and it will be difficult to change that. However in modern society there is no place for guns in the hands of less than pro's (police and military).

There is a large resistance against gun-control to many forces amonst which is weapon lobby, which appearantly are able to fool a large portion of the population. Of course its hard to see your believes disproven and will search for every 'proof' available to deny it. (as religous groups will find proof in the bible to support their claims). IOW, public denial. There is absolutely no reason why the US society cannot be as safe as european countries without guns. It probably needs to have a trigger as we did have in WWII.

Its time for the US to catch up.
