>It was supposed to be funny, and make people think; as I see it did.

I sincerely doubt that it was intended to make people laugh. It's a rather poor (at least in my opinion) polemic against the trend to take religion out of government.

>>Funny, except you are mixing up the issue of religion in politics/government and the right for people to follow their own religion.

>>The reason you have Sunday off, and the other holidays mentioned, is that a large portion of your population are Christian. Jewish people take off on their holy days, as do Muslims with theirs.

You know what I would like??????

I would like to take Rosh Hashonnah, Yom Kippur, and Passover as paid holidays and work on Christmas, the day after Christmas, and Good Friday. Instead I have to use some of my scarce vacation time to get those days off.

Well over 50% of the people where I work are immigrant Asians. I don't know how many are Christian but I'd bet a large proportion aren't. I'd also expect that a large proportion of them would rather work Christmas (etc) and get a paid holiday for their religious/cultural holidays.
