UPDATE: Today the two robbers were convicted to 10 years in prison. They'll be free when they're 35 and 33, or earlier when they behave good.
A couple of months ago there was a documentary on Dutch TV about a (morrocan) owner of a night shop in Amsterdam. He had been robbed several times already and stated now to defend himself the next time. Then he showed his gun to us all. The day after the documentary was broadcasted he was shot to death by a robber.
>Aside from that, I can point to many incidents where criminals confronted victims who had a gun
>and were themselves gunned down. There was an incident in San Diego (I can remember the exact
>dat, but if you need it, I'll look it up) not too long ago where a robber walked in and demanded
>cash. The clerk complied and gave him all the money. Then the robber shot & killed the clerk for
>no reason at all.
>
>Then there was a convenience store clerk who was confronted by a robber with a gun, who then
>pulled out his own gun & shot the robber dead.
>
>I'd rather be the one walking away instead of being the one carried away.

Constructive frustration is the breeding ground of genius.
If there’s no willingness to moderate for the sake of good debate, then I have no willingness to debate at all.
Let's develop superb standards that will end the holy wars.
