You know, it's funny ... we actually had plenty of time to visit Guayaquil, but couldn't. Our flight from Galápagos to the mainland went through Guayaquil and then on to Quito. But, Aerogal screwed up big time and basically made us get off the plane in Guayaquil and gave our plane to another flight!!! Meanwhile, we were stuck at the Guayaquil airport for what ended up being 8 hours!!! But of course, we didn't know that it would be 8 hours ... had we known that at the beginning, we could have left the airport for a few hours to visit your beautiful city.

What got a lot of our fellow travelers very angry was that the none of the Aerogal airline officials would communicate anything to the passengers. It was like pulling teeth to get any information out of them at all. I've been delayed on plenty of flights before, so it didn't bother me too much ... I suspect we had a lot of people on our flight who don't fly very often and weren't used to that kind of treatment. <g>
