I've always followed a standard where I'll use THIS for any reference within the object itself by the object regardless of type and THISFORM when referencing the form from one of it's contained controls. Whenever I post an example of Form code with THISFORM in it someone here inevitably dings me with the question "why not use THIS instead?".
