>>As Kevin points out, he was immediately looking for another job after signing a long term extension with Louisville. Some of these college guys never stop looking for an even job than they already have. Not just after a while but right away. Gary Barnett, who took Northwestern to the Rose Bowl 10 years ago, was notorious for it. He kept saying how happy he was in Evanston but he went after every high profile job that opened up. And he isn't alone.

>>After posting this morning I read an opinion piece on the train saying Petrino's move is going to put a chill on college guys in general getting NFL head coaching jobs for a while.

>I live in Louisville and am a huge Louisville fan. Petrino is a great coach, but it's true that the entire time he was here, he was looking for another job. After his first year, it was Auburn. Next year, LSU. Third year, Notre Dame and the Oakland Raiders. Finally after his 4th year, he left for the Falcons. I don't blame him for leaving Louisville, as it is a business, but I'll be happy if he gets his butt kicked in the SEC.

This story just gets more and more ridiculous. For instance, it has come out that on MONDAY, the day before he left for the Arkansas job, Petrino assured Arthur Blank he was staying. Also that Arkansas, through Jerry Jones, asked the Falcons for permission to talk to Petrino, were turned down, and talked to and signed him anyway. Finally, that Petrino didn't even tell the Falcons players himself but left a one paragraph note taped to his office door. What a stand-up guy.
