Question:
Can .NET program for Windows CE 5.0? Some also said that sample apps come with some of the scanners, so that would help; I've taken C# classes, but have yet to actually use that knowledge on anything like this.
>>I have to make a decision by tomorrow to buy one mobile scanner to scan barcodes for our shipping department. I sure would like to have FoxPro be the code and the database I use but I don't know how to make that work on a Windows CE 5.0 scanner. I suppose that isn't possible? If not, any other ideas on software that can make prompts and produce either a table, spreadsheet, or text file as output after scanning maybe 20 stands of wire.
>No, you can't directly run a Visual FoxPro app. on a Pocket PC. This is one of the aims of Christof's Guineu project at:
http://guineu.foxpert.com/ I don't know if it's at the point where you can realistically write an entire Pocket PC app. on it though.
>A few of the other responses gave you some other apps. to help write this kind of stuff. If you've got VS already, I'd suggest just writing it in .NET. It has a nice development environment and emulator for this kind of stuff.
