If I understand you about sys(0) the result for each user will be unique which should work. At startup my application takes the results of sys(0), prepends it with something like "ppclocl" and creates a (or uses an existing) file in exclusive mode. If I understand correctly when a Citrix user logs in the result will be a unique file for each of user which should work.

Unfortunately there can be no modifications to the program. It's a credit card payment processing program and if modified has to go through all the certification hoops with payment processors and card associations. Anymore that can take a minimum of weeks and often times more like months.
