>I don't think testing has ever been the strong suit of the Fox team - no doubt because of being understaffed.

The Fox Team does have a test harness and runs a ton of automated tests on every build. However, "Visual" things have always been difficult to test, hence, the lack of testing of the report writer. Someone has to actually look at the generated report and "see" if it looks okay. And when the testers aren't that experienced with the report writer to begin with .. they don't really know what they're looking for.

Back when MSFT was first working on VFP 9 they had me come to Seattle and do some testing for them. I just brought along all my code from all my conference sessions and training sessions. It was amazing how many of those reports failed ... and I mean SERIOUSLY failed!

It's pretty obvious that major report testing was NOT done on SP2.

>VFP is what it is. I find it very usable at 9sp1 tricked out with 3rd party tools and using SQL Server as a backend.

Charles .. I like your terminology ... "Tricked out". VFP .. with some chrome headers, a hood scoop, 22" rims, a sick paint job, and it's sweeeeeet! < g >
