Store LineToObject(laLines[m.ix]) to ('loLine' + ALLTRIM(STR(ix)))

To be exact this has more to do with identifyingthe target var than with
object references.

To get number-neutral object handles work on the lines of

loWork = eval('loLine' + ALLTRIM(STR(ix)))
? loWork.Property
