I don't believe in doing MS's debugging for them, so I'm waiting for a little while after SP3 is officially released - let some other sucke... er, I mean "early adopters" work the bugs out of the official SP3 release :)
It'll be nice when finally ready, though. I just rebuilt an XP SP2 machine from scratch. Currently it requires 3 + 89 + 1 updates in 3 separate passes to satisfy Windows/Microsoft Update. Most of those will be rolled up into SP3.
A speed increase would be icing on the cake AFAIC.
