Thanks. That's helpful, however I still don't know how to retry the connection or reconnect. I get that durn error message "Communication Link Failure" each time I access that remote view once it disconnects once. I have to crash vfp in order to rerun the program.

I suspect the same thing will happen when I put it in a catch/try statement.
