You need to proof that you are qualified to buy academic versions and can only use it for academic purposes. Qualified are usually students, teacher, and employees of museums, libraries and non-profit organizations. You cannot use the Academic version of VFP to sell software. As an employee of a qualifying organization you would be able to write software for use in this organization.
