My question on the hands-free laws is why we need them. I agree that many people are a danger when using their phones while driving, but we have reckless driving laws everywhere (I think). Why not just apply those? That way, those who can competently handle a phone and a steering wheel can do so, while the others get tickets.

The good ones have voice commands, so you can just glance at the map, but mostly take the directions it gives you.
