There was a workstation that I applied a bunch of Windows Updates to that didn't finish installing (Froze) Upon reboot, it came up with the login dialog, but the combo for the domain was not there, just username and password. I tried the regular username/pass combo's and non seem to work. I am open to suggestions on how to get passed this before I just rebuild the box.
If you're not getting the 3rd dropdown, the computer no longer thinks it's a member of the domain. You could log in in Safe Mode with Networking (actually I can't remember if this is available in W2K) if not, then just Safe Mode. Then go into Control Panel...System...Computer Name and tell it it's a member of your domain instead of a workgroup. That should restore domain connectivity.
Actually, before you do that go into Device Manager and make sure the network card is operating properly.
