Tamar,
I was not the first the New Year baby when I was born. I came in the evening. The first born in my city was a second cousin of mine. But I stole the headlines that year because I was born on my grandfather's 50th birthday. My paternal grandfather was born on January 1, 1900 and I was born on the same day in 1950. I stole the glory from my own cousin that year, ;-).
This year I was wondering about the 1st baby of the nation. Would it be the first one born or would be the one born the earliest in the day? Because our nation crosses many time zones a baby could be born at 12:00:10 AM EST and then almost three hours later a baby could be born at 12:00:09 AM PT, then another born at 12:00:08 in Hawaii, which is the first born in the USA?
