>While VFP5 or 6 cannot create an OCX, you can still create OLE server classes within EXEs or DLLs that can supply data services, and interfaces if needed, to VFP and other clients such as VB or C++. I provide these types of OLE servers to VFP, VB and C++ clients in the company I work for. I also pop up VFP forms within the host applications using SetParent(), etc.

VFP has better COM support, but to give us this they had to take away ALL user interface capabilities in COM servers. No forms, messageboxes or wait windows are allowed any more.
