Easier? At 35, divorced with children? At 55 when you just got laid off? Your suggestion as merit for SOME lives, would make others infinitely more difficult (welcome to the real world :-)) What WOULD be nice would be more options instead of the present college then work that most people live through.
I wonder how many people DECIDE to do something different compared to the number who fall into a new career. Certainly, I'm in the latter category!
