I assume that this should work with a remote connection if the connection string is setup right.

In order to insert data into our website's Shared SQL Server database, I'd have to send the remote connection string with a username and password. I cannot setup a vpn to my ISP's SQL Server. Is this connection string sent encrypted? If not, isn't this a huge security risk? Should I be worried about that?
